House Championship

The Summerhill House Championship was launched in September 2017                                                                      in unison with the exciting new House System that is now in place in                                                                school.  The House Championship aims to underpin the feeling of community within school with friendly competition that students and staff alike can take part in to secure House Points for their house. This championship runs throughout the whole of the school year with the winning House receiving the House Championship Trophy.

As part of the House Championships, House Competitions take place at various points throughout each term, from sporting competitions, to academic based competitions; the aim is to facilitate student engagement with competitions that is fun and allows students to demonstrate their unique skillsets in competition. We hope that this allows students to contribute to the wider school life here at Summerhill by representing their house with pride.

To recognise any student that competes for their house they will receive a House Cap; as students accumulate House Caps throughout their 5 years at Summerhill they will receive a reward for 5, 10, 25 and 50 House Caps that will signify their fantastic contribution to their House.

Not only can students secure House Points from winning House Competitions; staff may reward individual students with a House Point for demonstrating extraordinary accomplishments; these House Points are then added to the House Championships Totaliser.
