Little Shop of Horrors

Olivia Fairfax, reviewing a performance full of star power

Meek flower shop assistant Seymour Krelborn pines for co-worker Audrey. During a total eclipse, he discovers an unusual plant he names Audrey II, which feeds only on human blood and flesh…

I cannot begin to explain how amazing this show was, and how much it proves that hard work really does pay off. The shows were performed on the 6th, 7th and 8th of February and had a packed audience every single night. Not one smile was missing from anyone’s face and everyone was singing along having an amazing time. The cast did such a perfect job and made this show enjoyable to watch by giving up endless hours of their weekends and weekdays to rehearse. The staff worked especially hard and the production would not have been at all possible without them! The characters took us on the journey of Audrey II the man-eating plant, played brilliantly by Charlotte Cooper and the other main rolls of Seymour Krelborn by Ben Partridge, Mr Mushnik by Sam Holden, Audrey by Ella Palmer and Orin Scrivello (the dentist) by Liam Hewitt. As the show came to a close, the audience showed their appreciation by giving the cast a standing ovation. Can’t wait to see what show is produced next year but it will be hard to top this.
