Students and parents have the opportunity to access high quality information relating to sixth form and FE study from local colleges and sixth form providers.

 

Students and parents have opportunity to look at provision of courses from local and national universities as well as potential career paths in uniformed public services and modern apprenticeships

College Virtual Tours

All Year 11 students to be given opportunity for a virtual tour of our Top 5 college destinations. This will dispel any myths relating to FE and give students real life FE experience helping to give them better information of future career path

Careers Guidance @ Summerhill

Our school Connexions advisor, Wendy Lowe provides impartial information advice and guidance on a wide range of topics that affect young people. She can help you when making choices about your careers, education and training, finding you your ideal job and helping you write a CV. She can also offer help with exam stress, money and health and things to do in your free time that will develop your social skills.

If you would like an individual Connexions meeting please ask them to see Mr Wollerton, Assistant Head Teacher / Careers Lead in the Ursa House Office or Mr Morgan in the Learning Centre to request an appointment. Mr Wollerton is available for informal discussions regarding career pathways before school, at breaktime and after school in the office.

 

Personal Statement Guidance

Personal statements are a crucial part of university and college applications. Personal statements are your chance to show universities or colleges that you’re the best person for the course. You need to demonstrate that you have the right skills, experience and aptitude for the course. You also need to show an understanding of what the course involves and explain why it interests you.
